Board Position: President

Joe is an airline pilot with over 15 years of both international business development and organizational leadership experience.  He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired after 20 years of service.

On active duty Joe was an F/A-18 fighter pilot with combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, followed by a transition to the C-40A/B-737 supporting global logistics operations in the Reserves.  A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in Systems Engineering, Joe became active in veteran-centric volunteer work in 2012 and has led the North Texas Military Foundation since 2017.

Joe resides in Flower Mound with his wife, Jessica, their two children, and two rescue dogs. 

Marco Marin

Board Position: Treasurer

Marc is a JP Morgan Asset Wealth Management Client On-boarding Associate, primarily working with new clients in Latin America. Previously a KYC/AML officer with Commercial Bank for six years, Marc retired from federal government as a finance and accounting professional after 25 years in 2014.

Marc completed a 30-year career with the US Army Reserve, including four years on active duty. Commissioned in 1979 as a Field Artillery officer, he served in the Republic of Korea and Fort Sill, OK on active duty for three years. In 2005 he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Green Zone while assigned to the US Embassy as a Comptroller and Director of Finance. Marc retired in 2009 with the rank of Colonel.  

Marc has served as both a Trustee and Treasurer for the North Texas Military Foundation since 2014. As a life member of the Reserve Organization of America (ROA) since 1990, he serves as the Executive Secretary & Treasurer for the Department of Texas and is a Past President of the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of ROA.  

Marc has a BS from Trinity University, an MBA from the University of the Incarnate Word, and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. He also attended the Senior Fellows program at the JFK School of Government, Harvard University, in 2007.

Kim Guedry

Board Position: Board of Trustees

Kim Guedry is a Chief of Staff at Lumen Technologies, a two-time entrepreneur, a 20+ year veteran, and a Captain in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves currently assigned to the Defense Innovation Unit in Mountain View, California.

Over 15 years ago, Kim got heavily involved with non-profits through the Parent Teacher Association and Boy Scouts of America when her boys were young, and it evolved into a full-time position with the US Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association. As a Major Gifts Coordinator for their 13-project, $30M Comprehensive Campaign and later as a Cabinet Member, Kim learned the intricacies of the fundraising lifecycle and non-profit business. Coupled with her and her youngest son’s love of sports and his special needs with Colpocephaly, Kim’s non-profit experience further expanded to coaching and mentoring with Special Olympics. Following his retirement from the US Coast Guard and a move back near her husband’s hometown of Dallas, she joined the North Texas Military Foundation in February 2020 to continue her philanthropic endeavors and fulfill her need of giving back.

As a graduate in Civil Engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy, Kim spent several years on active duty, including Commanding Officer of an 87-foot patrol boat during Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom, before transitioning to the reserves. While on active duty, Kim earned her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialty in Human Resources Management and, in 2019, her Professional Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Kim currently resides in Frisco, Texas, with her husband, a fellow veteran and commercial pilot, Andy, and their two boys and two Weimaraners.

Phil Rinaldo

Phil Rinaldo

Board Position: Board of Trustees

Phillip Rinaldo is a service-disabled Army veteran and owner of a defense company supporting military a operations overseas. He has held various operational and executive roles over his 22 years of contractor support for military operations in the U.S., Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. Prior to his civilian career, Phill completed his 8-year active and reserve requirement in the Army for as an infantryman and in the battalion S4 (Logistics). Notable missions include supporting Joint Task Force Six (JTF-6), JTF-160 Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Bosnia and Herzegovina Rail Operations, and Operation Arabian Fury. 

 

Phillip is a graduate of the Infantry Basic and Advance Course, Unit Supply Specialist Course, and Logistics Management Development Course (Army Logistics College). 

 

North Texas Military Foundation is Phill’s inaugural work with non-profits.
