Joe Silver
Board Position: President
Joe is an experienced senior leader in aerospace and defense and a current pilot for American Airlines, with a career grounded in leadership, strategic thinking, and operational results. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, he developed his leadership foundation during 20 years of military service — 11 on Active Duty and 9 in the Reserves.
As a naval aviator, Joe flew the F/A-18 in combat operations over Iraq and Afghanistan as part of Carrier Air Wing 11 aboard the USS Carl Vinson. He retired from the Navy Reserves with over 3,000 hours of flight time across the A-4, F-15, F-16, F/A-18, E-2C, SH-60B, and Boeing 737. Beyond the cockpit, he served as an Instructor Pilot, Program Manager, Legal Officer, Public Affairs Director, and Department Head, developing the strategic and organizational skills that would define his civilian career.
Following his military service, Joe held senior business development and operations roles across two sectors of the defense and aerospace industry — Technology and Logistics — at various companies ranging from small privately held firms to large global corporations, delivering service and technology solutions for domestic and international customers.
Joe’s commitment to the veteran community led him to the North Texas Military Foundation in 2012, beginning on the planning committee for that year’s annual ball. After several years of engagement, he joined the board of trustees and was later elected President, helping lead the organization into a new chapter of growth and impact.
Joe and his wife, Jessica, have two grown children and currently reside in Flower Mound, Texas with their rescue Doberman.

Kim Guedry
Board Position: Board of Trustees
Kim Guedry is a Chief of Staff at Lumen Technologies, a two-time entrepreneur, a 20+ year veteran, and a Captain in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves currently assigned to the Defense Innovation Unit in Mountain View, California.
Over 15 years ago, Kim got heavily involved with non-profits through the Parent Teacher Association and Boy Scouts of America when her boys were young, and it evolved into a full-time position with the US Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association. As a Major Gifts Coordinator for their 13-project, $30M Comprehensive Campaign and later as a Cabinet Member, Kim learned the intricacies of the fundraising lifecycle and non-profit business. Coupled with her and her youngest son’s love of sports and his special needs with Colpocephaly, Kim’s non-profit experience further expanded to coaching and mentoring with Special Olympics. Following his retirement from the US Coast Guard and a move back near her husband’s hometown of Dallas, she joined the North Texas Military Foundation in February 2020 to continue her philanthropic endeavors and fulfill her need of giving back.
As a graduate in Civil Engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy, Kim spent several years on active duty, including Commanding Officer of an 87-foot patrol boat during Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom, before transitioning to the reserves. While on active duty, Kim earned her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialty in Human Resources Management and, in 2019, her Professional Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Kim currently resides in Frisco, Texas, with her husband, a fellow veteran and commercial pilot, Andy, and their two boys and two Weimaraners.
